CHURCHES AND CHEESESTEAK TOUR
SATURDAY, MAY 4
Only 20 Seats Available—Registration Required April 19
6:45 AM—4:00 PM (arrive at CFLC by 6:30 am; bus leaves Philadelphia at approx. 4:00 pm, arriving at CFLC approx. 5:15)

This tour begins with Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, consecrated in 1832. At one point there was a 2:45 am Mass for those who worked on the newspapers (the ‘Printers Mass’). Next is the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, completed in 1864. It is the largest brownstone structure in Philadelphia and the largest Catholic church in Pennsylvania. Lunch will follow at the famous friendly cheesesteak rivals, Geno’s Steaks and Pat’s King of Steaks across the street from each other on 9th Street! Choose your favorite! The last stop is at the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia on South Broad Street. It was built in 1907, seven years after St. Rita was canonized.

Cost: $40/Adult: $20/Ages 6-17 (includes transportation; does not include lunch).
