St. Philip Neri Catholic Family Life Center at the Phantoms Game

March 2, 2016

The St. Philip Neri Catholic Family Life Center sponsored a trip to the PPL Center in Allentown, PA on Saturday, February 27, 2016 to see the Lehigh Valley Phantoms battle the Utica Comets. The Phantoms are the Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate team and the Comets the Vancouver Canucks.

Hockey Game - 8A sellout crowd unfortunately witnessed the Phantoms fall to the Comets 2 – 1.   Phantoms goaltender, Anthony Stolarz received the second star of the game for his effort in stopping 40 of 42 Utica shots.  On offense, the lone goal was scored by the Phantoms Center Phil DeSimone.

The atmosphere was enjoyable all evening as we found ourselves included in the birthday celebration of the Phantom’s mascot, MeLVin.  Many local mascots from the area professional and college teams were on hand to party, interact with the fans and take part in games like musical chairs on the ice.

Our families enjoyed very good seats in the lower level as well as easy access to and from our bus.  Although we were a small group it was nice to see the children (of all ages) that accompanied their parents and grandparents.
